A well-known minister and educator, who taught for many years in the Diocese of Beaumont, will be greatly missed. Sister Angelina Kilbane, SHSp, passed away on June 14 at her home, the Convent of the Sisters of the Holy Spirit and Mary Immaculate in San Antonio.

Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School Principal Roger Bemis received a plaque from Superintendent of Schools Marcia Stevens in honor of his many years of service on June 25. Bemis will be retiring June 30 after serving 23 years at Kelly High.

WASHINGTON – On June 18, the U.S. Supreme Court issued an opinion preventing the Trump Administration from terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. On November 12, 2019, the Court heard the challenge to the Trump Administration’s DACA repeal efforts, in which U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops submitted an amicus curiae brief in support of maintaining the program.
With the gym complete restoration of the main building at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School, Port Arthur, is underway and will be completed within the year. “At St. Catherine it looks like to be around early August when we will be completed with the construction,” said Alan Bihm, Diocesan Director of Construction.
