Following Mass, Bishop Guillory blessed and distributed ashes that were recently created by the burning of palms used in last year’s Palm Sunday services.

Bishop Curtis Guillory was in Houston Feb. 20 along with several Southeast Texans to assist Catholic Extension in celebrating the life of Father Anthony “T.J.” Martinez, S.J., who helped establish Cristo Rey Jesuit College Prep, an innovative high school that serves economically challenged children.

The Serra Clubs of Beaumont and Port Arthur held its Annual Appreciation Dinner for Religious at St. Jude Thaddeus, Beaumont, Feb. 13. The dinner honored all priests, deacons, sisters and brothers in this diocese and other places around the world.
