Students at Lamar University, Beaumont, celebrated Mardi Gras March 5. Father Tino Barrera celebrated Mass in the St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel. Following Mass, lunch was served in the Catholic Student Center by The Men of Jude from St. Jude Thaddeus Church, Beaumont.
Staff and students of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School, Beaumont, held a Mardi Gras parade in front of the school on Forsythe Street March 5. Beads, candy, and other gifts were provided. Each float within the parade resembled a biblical figure or story.
Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, and Msgr. Jeremiah McGrath were honorees at 19 th Annual Mardi Gras Gala March 2 at The Event Centre in Beaumont. Proceeds raised from the gala’s silent and live auctions will be used for tuition assistance at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School.
