From singing to hospitality, the 7th Annual Prayer and Worship Seminar included various workshops that covered the different aspects of liturgy.
Father Roger Keeler offered the keynote address Friday evening. His address included a metaphor between a far from perfect family dinner and what the liturgy is. Exhibitors were also open both days and included some small Christian businesses from around Southeast Texas.
The second day started off with a breakfast and a prayer service. After that attendees could either go through the English or Spanish tracks of the seminar. Though both tracks had similar workshops, such as the topics of hospitality and music liturgy, there were also different workshops, such as Hispanics also being called to the religious life for the Spanish track, and Catholic Trivia in the English one.
The seminar ended with Mass celebrated by Bishop Guillory, concluding a two-day seminar full of knowledge and resources for all the faithful from around the diocese. The seminar was made possible thanks to grants from Our Sunday Visitor and the John G. & Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation, and to the diocesan faithful’s gifts to the Bishop’s Faith Appeal.
