Community's faithful pray for intentions

The Faithful of Southeast Texas gathered at the historical St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica for the Bishop’s Faith Appeal Intentions Mass.  Representatives from each parish in the Diocese of Beaumont processed with a basket full of intention cards, stating their fellow parishioners prayer intentions, leaving them before the altar.

The cards will now be taken to Bishop Curtis Guillory’s chapel located in his home so that he may continue to pray for the intentions of the faithful. This year’s theme “On Earth as it is in Heaven” was featured in Bishop Guillory’s homily. The mass took place on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m., with a reception at the Cathedral Center afterwards.
