“I tried to give it my all. But I have received so much more than I have given,” Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, said about his 18 years of service at a Mass of Thanskgiving in Gratitude for his episcopacy Sept. 7 at St. Mary Church, Orange.
Bishop Guillory noted that his service has been a collaboration with the faithful to help the diocese grow spiritually and to meet and work through challenges such as Hurricane Harvey.
“All things work for the good for those who love God,” Bishop Guillory said.
The Mass at St. Mary Church was the third of five such celebrations. The next one will take place Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at St. James Church, 3617 Gulfway Dr., Port Arthur. A reception will follow the Mass.
