The Catholic bishops of Texas have named Jennifer Carr Allmon as the executive director of the Texas Catholic Conference, the first woman appointed to this TCC role.
“In the 10 years that Jennifer Carr Allmon has served as the associate director of the Texas Catholic Conference, I have found her to be deeply committed to her Catholic faith and very knowledgeable on matters before the Texas legislature and the impact on the greater community,” said Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. “I join the bishops in Texas in expressing our gratitude to Ms. Allmon for accepting the responsibility to lead the Texas Catholic Conference as its next executive director.”
As executive director, Allmon will serve the Texas bishops in overseeing TCC activities. These include advocating as the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Texas and nationally, coordinating the accreditation and collaboration of Texas Catholic schools, and preserving the documents and cultural history of the church through the Catholic Archives of Texas.
