Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday, the first day of Holy Week, commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This may begin outside with parishioners holding palm fronds. The palms are symbols of the cloaks and branches laid on the road as Jesus passed by the crowds who were worshipping him. At the end of the reading, they process into the church. The palm fronds are taken home by the parishioners while some make palm crosses.
