Principal selected for St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School
The Diocese of Beaumont is proud to announce the selection of Jessie Thomas as the next principal at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School in Beaumont.
Thomas has been a leader in education for years, having most recently served as Head of School at Legacy Christian Academy in Beaumont. She also has experience in the Diocese of Beaumont having previously served as the Director of Marketing, Development and Admissions at St. Anne Catholic School in Beaumont. She holds a master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on educational leadership.
Superintendent of Schools Robert Reid said, “The Diocese of Beaumont is glad to welcome Mrs. Thomas, and we are excited about the positive impact she is going to have on our learning environment at SACBS and supporting the diverse needs of students.
“Mrs. Thomas is known for her strong collaborative approach, working closely with teachers, staff, parents and the community to create a shared vision of excellence in education. Ensuring that SACBS has a strong leader is important to the Diocese of Beaumont, and we look forward to seeing all she will do for the St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School Community.”
A convert to Catholicism, Thomas is passionate about her faith and holds a Christocentric education as the highest ideal. Her goal is to help students form habits and a worldview that is firmly rooted in the theological, intellectual and moral virtues.
She and her husband have three school-aged children who will join her in becoming a part of the St. Anthony family. She is a parishioner of St. Jude Thaddeus in Beaumont.
St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School has provided a quality education for hundreds of students for over 125 years. Located in downtown Beaumont, the school is easy to access for not only residents of Beaumont but those in other communities who work in the downtown Beaumont area.
