Girls’ softball gets training facility

Thanks to a generous donation to Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School, Beaumont, the girls’ softball team now has a beautiful new training facility. The facility was dedicated to the Dominican Sisters of Houston and was blessed Aug. 19 by Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, with players, staff, family and friends in attendance.

“This facility is a wonderful addition to Kelly High School,” Bishop Guillory said. “It is wonderful and appropriate that it sits in the shadow of where the sisters lived.”

The new facility provides a covered area for practice, batting cages, a locker room and an office. In addition to the training facility upgrades were made to the concession stand and press box, and a restroom was added.
