The Diocese of Beaumont took home four awards at the 2018 Catholic Press Awards ceremony.
The Diocese of Beaumont staff was awarded first place for The Diocese of Beaumont Annual Report 2015-2016. Staff was complimented for using multiple languages to ensure that the message was accessible to all of the East Texas Catholic audience. This award reflects the combined efforts of the ministries of Stewardship and Communications and Financial Services.
Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, DD, was awarded third place for Best Regular Column by a Bishop or Archbishop for Working Together for Good in His Name. The column appears in each issue of the East Texas Catholic.
Honorable Mention for Best Regular Column was awarded to Richard Rosario for One Steward’s Response. His column also regularly appears within issues of the East Texas Catholic.
Honorable Mention for Best Use of Art or Graphics in Spanish was awarded to Juan Ceja, the former graphic artist for the Diocese of Beaumont. The award-winning piece, Rios de Agua Viva, was the poster for the 2017 Bishop’s Faith Appeal.
