Four Catholic Relief Services staff are among the 157 passengers who died when Ethiopia Airlines Flight ET302 crashed minutes after takeoff March 10.
Getnet Alemayehu, Mulusew Alemu, Sintayehu Aymeku and Sara Chalachew, who were part of the CRS team in Ethiopia, were traveling from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Nairobi, Kenya.
“Although we are in mourning, let us celebrate the lives of our lost colleagues and the contributions they made to the CRS mission in advancing human dignity and justice throughout Ethiopia and eastern Africa,” CRS said in a statement.
Among the dead were eight Americans, 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians, and others from China, India, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Somalia.
Catholic Relief Services, founded by U.S Catholic bishops in 1943, is an international relief and development agency.
