50th Diocesan Youth Convention is underway

Keynote speaker Paul George kicked off the second day of the 50th Diocesan Youth Convention with his humor and charisma. Many different workshops also took place in which the youth where able to participate. One such workshop was “All About That Praise” where Holy Trinity, Mont Belvieu parishioners Bradford and Tori Downs led praise and worship to explore God’s love through music. Another workshop was held by the students involved in Campus Ministry at Lamar University in Beaumont. This workshop, “Taking Faith to College,” reached out to the 2016 graduates to give them advice from the college students’ personal experiences with the common, yet unpredictable situations of life, such as not knowing what major to pursue or finding the right friends who will support them in their faith. To illustrate the unpredictable, the college students presented photos and volunteers from the audience of graduates were asked to make up a story about the photo.
