In a trip to Washington, D.C. on October 2, 2006, Bishop Curtis J. Guillory, SVD, accepted the 2006 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award from the National Catholic Educational Association, for the successes of the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Beaumont. Bishop Guillory said he accepts the award on behalf of the people of Southeast Texas.
