42nd Annual Diocesan Youth Convention
Wednesday Evening:
After weeks of getting ready it’s finally here – the 42nd Annual Youth Convention, bringing together almost 800 youth and their adult advisers from across the Diocese of Beaumont. We come together to meet new people, attend workshops, participate in liturgies and prayer services, but most of all, to gather in the Catholic faith.
Even before the official start of convention, activities began with going to an Astros baseball game. They were playing against the Texas Rangers. Astros lost, but we had a good time.
Thursday morning
The opening this morning was awesome! Just ask any of the 860 people here at convention. Yeah, I know, I said 800, but there is 860 plus the speakers, board members and staff! The opening showed how having God in your life just makes things better and saves all of us from the evils and bad parts of life. The Youth Board carried in the cross, as is tradition, then Adam Weaver opened convention.
