As we prepare to implement changes in wording in the Roman Missal, it is good to take time now to renew our understanding and appreciation of our great gift, the Eucharistic Liturgy, the Mass.  What is the meaning of our words, our postures, our gestures?  What is the meaning of each part of the Mass and how does each part challenge us to participate and to be transformed?

Content:  Definition and history of liturgy from Jewish roots to the present; origins, development and meaning of the Gloria, the Creed, the Eucharistic Prayer; study of Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy,  General Instruction of the Roman Missal, Redemptionis Sacramentum, liturgical books; history, structure and elements of Mass.

Sacristan/Liturgical Environment Workshop

What is a “Sacristan” and what are the duties of a sacristan.  Is there more to Liturgical Environment in church than just lovely decorations?  What is the relationship between a Sacristan and Liturgical Environment?  This workshop will explore the theological background of these two liturgical ministries and how they serve the liturgy and, therefore, the worshiping community.
