Services:
The Office of Worship is responsible for preparing diocesan liturgies, such as the Rite of Election, Chrism Mass, church dedications, ordinations and clergy funerals.
The office advises parishes, diocesan departments, schools, groups, and organizations in preparing liturgies at which the Bishop presides, and helps in their preparation of sacramental liturgies and rituals, prayer services, the Liturgy of the Hours, and Eucharistic liturgies.
Liturgy courses are offered through CEMI on the diocesan level. Workshops for parish liturgical ministers are offered to parishes individually and on the vicariate level. Certification programs in liturgy and in music are in place for Directors of Liturgy and/or Music.
Through membership in the Southwest Liturgical Conference and the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, the Bishop and the director of the Office of Worship receive current information concerning liturgy and work in consultation to advise clergy and laity. The Diocesan Liturgical Commission and the Masters of Episcopal Ceremonies work closely with the Office of Worship.
The Diocesan Choir, which provides the ministry of music for diocesan liturgies, is under the direction of the Office of Worship.
