Our Lady of the Pines, Woodville, said goodbye to their pastor Sunday June 14 as La Salette Father Egidio Vecchio celebrated his retirement.
Bishop Curtis Guillory was in attendance and thanked Father Vecchio for his years of service.
“You can tell that he loves this parish and you can tell that the parish loves him. There’s a real sense of wonderful fellowship every time I come here,” Bishop Guillory said.
Father Vecchio received gifts from the parish and a special commendation from Congressman Kevin Brady.
“I can’t thank you enough for all the love and support that you’ve given me. I know I won’t be able to stay away and I’ll try to come back as much as I can,” Father Vecchio said.
