Third Age Celebration

Seniors from throughout the diocese gathered April 20 at St. Charles Borromeo, Nederland, to celebrate Third Age Day. This year's theme was Third Agers in the Green in honor of recycling and other environmentally friendly activities. The seniors enjoyed 10 a.m. Mass celebrated by Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, followed by a gumbo lunch catered by the Knights of Columbus. Entertainment for the day included a performance by the Happy Steppers, jokes by Renella Primeaux and music by the Cajun Country Classics band. The day was sponsored by Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas. Catholic Charities is funded in part by the Catholic faithful of Southeast Texas through the Bishop's Faith Appeal.
