2009 Bishop's Faith Appeal Intentions Mass

Diocese prays together for intentions

Parishioners from throughout the diocese gathered with Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, July 9 at the St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica Center, Beaumont, to celebrate a special Mass for the intentions of all the faithful who are supporting the 2009 Bishop’s Faith Appeal.

During Mass, Bishop Guillory thanked all in attendance for supporting the Bishop’s Faith Appeal.

“You can’t do it yourself, but your donation is an extension of you,” he said.

He also spoke about the difficult times Southeast Texas has gone through the last few years with hurricanes and the economic downturn.

“No matter what happens, if we have Jesus as our friend, if we walk humbly in his presence, we will be able to handle whatever comes,” Bishop Guillory said.
