The Year of Jubilee began with a Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving on September 10, 2006 at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont. The Mass was celebrated by Most Reverend Joseph A. Fiorenza, Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and a native of Beaumont, with Bishop Guillory as homilist.
