Eggs, milk, hurricane supply list…

Beaumont residents looking for ways to prepare for hurricane season won’t need to look any farther than their local HEB.

The supermarket has invited Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, the Red Cross and the Humane Society to set up booths inside and hand out information on hurricane preparedness June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Randi Fertitta, director of Disaster, Trauma and Loss for Catholic Charities, will be on hand giving out a wealth of information to the public.

“We’ll be handing on information on how to help your family prepare for a disaster, information on the national flood insurance program. We’ll even have some information on the FEMA application process in case there is another disaster,” Fertitta said.

“We’ll have a surplus of different types of disaster planning tools such as an emergency supply list which can help you make an emergency kit. We’ll be inside with tables set up so anyone can come by and pick up what they need,” Fertitta said.
